Apple Records, the recording label launched by the Beatles in 1968, has announced that they will be re-releasing 15 albums on CD and digitally, which marks the first time any of the Apple collection is available for download. The albums will be available for purchase on Oct. 26.
Among the 15 artists with upcoming remastered releases is James Taylor, Badfinger, Mary Hopkins and Billy Preston. Oddly, though, no Beatles.
The same group that remastered The Beatles releases in 2009–EMI’s Abbey Road Studios in London–have also worked on each of the 15 albums.
Here’s a complete list of the remastered albums:
1. James Taylor (1968) by James Taylor
2. Magic Christian Music (1970) by Badfinger
3. No Dice (1970) by Badfinger
4. Straight Up (1972) by Badfinger

As James Taylor tickets and Carole King tickets fly out the door, word is coming from the Troubadour tour camp about the set design being used. The two musical icons hope to redefine “up close and personal” with their innovative stage setting.
On the road, the tour will take place “in the round” meaning the stage will be set in the middle of the venue/arena floor surrounded on all sides with floor seating in additional to the regular side seating. But what’s unique about the Troubadour set design is the creation of a vintage nightclub-type seating area immediately surrounding the stage. The so-called “Stage Seats” are designed as tables for two, where the fan who pay for the privileged perches are practically face-to-face with Taylor and King. A preview of the set can be seen here.
The artists are upping the ante with this specialty seating. They are part of ticket packages being offered that come loaded with perks: access to the sound check session, pre-performance private catered reception, tour laminate, and commemorative tour book. And the best part - the money raised will be donated to nearly 100 local and national charities.
“When we first talked about reuniting, we knew we wanted to bring the Troubadour to life,” said Taylor. “These Stage Seats are one small way to pay homage. We also saw a national reunion tour as an opportunity to support the great work that charities are doing all across the U.S.”
Some of the charities to benefit from this generosity include Autism Speaks, Habit for Humanity, Natural Resources Defense Council, and many many more. To get your VIP Troubadour Tour tickets, visit ticketsforcharity.com.

Carole King and James Taylor tickets for their Troubadour Band Reunion tour are so hot, they’re having to add additional dates to accommodate all the fans!
King and Taylor just added a third Troubadour Reunion concert at Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass., on July 5. Taylor’s official Web site says that the July 3 and 4 shows at the venue had an “overwhelming response” and quickly sold out.
This is the third show the duo have had to add because of the overwhelming response. The first was for a Haiti Relief Benefit on Jan. 23, and the second is at the Mohegan Sun Arena on June 13.
“The response to the tour has been really amazing,” Taylor told the Berkshire Eagle. “It’s great while it lasts.”

James Taylor and Carole King have teamed up for the “Carole King and James Taylor Troubadour Band” and will be taking the stage on March 26 in Melbourne, Australia. After that, they’re hitting New Zealand and Japan in mid-April before coming to LA for the Hollywood Bowl on May 14 and 15. James Taylor is also scheduled to play in Lenox, Maine on July 3 and 4 for Tanglewood.
So that’s what’s scheduled as of today, but there is always the promise of more dates, more cities and more James Taylor.
